14 week fetus :)
I haven't felt any flutters yet, but I am assured that Nugget the Ninja-in-training is practicing punching and kicking. Normally, the first "quickening" happens between 14 and 22 weeks.
Camping went okay this weekend. I tolerated it fine...even though it was close to 100 degrees. The mosquitoes were so bad, we couldn't sit outside in the campsite like we usually do and because it was so hot, we didn't make a single fire. So that meant a lot of laying about inside the stuffy tent. Plus, there was NOTHING to do in the area. Literally. We did find a super awesome lake nearby and cruised around there and sat on the beach for a day, but other than that, we were completely bored out of our minds. Normally, we're good with just sitting around or exploring, but I wasn't up for hiking (wonder why?!) and neither was hubby. Our one attempt at a short hike to an observation tower ended quite abruptly; we no more than pulled into the parking lot and the deer flies and horse flies were swarming the car. But did that deter us from getting out and trying to walk down the trail? No. We got a few yards and hubby and I decided that was enough of that and we both started running back to the car. Poor Nugget! As for the supposed "flush toilets and showers"...the only flushies were at the campground entrance, which is too far to walk when you "gotta go". So I had to resort to making do with the pit toilets, which weren't awful until the last day. Speaking of the last day, we had intended (and prepaid for) 3 nights...but left after 2 because we were so bored. Anyway, in short...camping sucked.
On the plus side, I visited our town's new, first-ever maternity and childrens' consignment shop today. AMAZING prices!! I needed some shorts and summer stuff other than my one pair of maternity long capris (they were a bit on the warm side this weekend). I got a pair of khaki shorts for $2.99, Old Navy brown striped shorts for $4.99, and a jean skirt for $5.99. I also got a cute hot pink patterned shirt for $4.99; a package of brand new, never opened or used neutral Gerber onesies for $5.99 (5 pack), a package of 4 really soft white onesies for $2.99, and a 2 pack of white onesies for $1.99. But my majorly awesome purchase for today was a vibrating, rocking bassinet (with flip down wheels for rolling) for $18.99!! It was marked $24.99 but if you "Like" the business on FB (which I have since they opened, just have never visited), you get special pricing on the big items. :) She was also running a special for $10 in store credit for every $50 spent; I spent $51, so I got my $10!
